Felix Kleber, a metropolitan policeman, far from home and his bearings, finds himself teamed up with Cheyenne Tinihu, a Polynesian gendarme who, following a stray bullet that nearly cost her her life, discovers that she is sensitive to the spirits of her native island: Polynesia. Despite their different methods and incompatible personalities, the two investigators must unite their respective talents for the needs of their cases.
An expert geologist in charge of studying the impact of a cobalt exploitation on the marine ecosystem in Polynesia is found murdered in possession of a very large quantity of drugs. Felix Kleber, captain of OFAST (the drug squad), puts Lieutenant Orama, his deputy, and his entire team on this new case.
Meanwhile, Alexandra Bailly, the right-hand woman of the murdered geologist, takes over the file of her deceased colleague. Threats are immediately made against her. The drug is only a decoy. Felix Kleber will have to untangle the interests of the different suspects in this case and prove that the geological expert had nothing to do with drug trafficking. Above all, he will have to do everything possible to allow Alexandra to complete her report.
